Sending Invitations on WhatsApp: A Personal Link per Guest and Open Tracking
One group message is forgotten quickly. It is better that each guest receives a link with their own name, and that you can then see who opened it and who replied.
Why a personal link?
The guest's name appears on the invitation so it feels addressed to them, and you can see when it was sent and how many times it was opened, so you do not have to ask each person.
Steps
- Publish the invitation to get its link.
- In “Guest management” paste your list of names and numbers at once, or pick from your contacts.
- Write numbers with the country code, for example 905xxxxxxxxx or 9665xxxxxxxx.
- Press the WhatsApp button beside a guest, or “WhatsApp to all”; the message opens ready with their name, link and language.
Reminders
- A reminder for guests who have not replied, about a week after the invitation.
- A reminder a day or two before the event for those who have not declined.
- You can edit the text of each message before sending.
Tips
- Choose a nice picture for the link preview; it is the first thing guests see.
- Send at a quiet hour rather than the middle of the night.
- If a guest apologises in a private message, set their attendance by hand; their own answer is kept.
