Wedding Reminder Messages: When to Send Them, With Examples
An invitation alone is not enough: many guests open it and forget to reply, or forget the date. Two short reminders at the right time make your headcount accurate and spare you a week of phone calls.
When to send reminders
- A week to ten days before: to guests who have not replied yet, before you confirm tables and catering.
- The day before: to everyone who said yes, with the time, the venue and the map link.
- Do not overdo it: two messages are enough, more becomes a nuisance.
For guests who have not replied
- “Hi [name], we would love to have you at our wedding on [date]. Could you let us know if you can come, so we can save your seat? [link]”
- “Hello [name] 🌸 Our big day is a week away and we would love to know if you will be with us. It takes a second: [link]”
The day before
- “See you tomorrow, [name] 🤍 [time] at [venue]. The map and details are in the invitation: [link]”
- “We look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Directions are inside the invitation: [link]”
Tips
- Send each message with the guest's name; a personal message is read far more than a group one.
- Use the same link you sent with the invitation so guests are not lost between links.
- Mind the hour: do not send late at night.
On Davet
- Ready WhatsApp messages of three kinds: the invitation, a reminder for guests who have not replied, and a reminder before the day, each with the guest's name and language.
- A report of who opened the invitation and who replied, so you only remind those who need it.
- A notification a week before the day if some guests have not replied, and another the day before.
